Basement Tanking & Waterproofing Aftercare
Basement tanking waterproofing system maintenance
We offer a comprehensive range of servicing plans and pay as you go options, including inspection and servicing.
British Standard 8102 code of practice for the protection of below ground structures against water from the ground highlights the need for system service with drained protection waterproofing (Type C) and the requirements of the designer to advise the client of this and the implications if they do not comply.
Therefore we recommend that all sump pumps are maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Regular maintenance is vital for keeping your basement pump and waterproofing system working efficiently and avoiding failures which can cause flooding and costly repairs. To keep your basement sump pump working well we recommend a service every 6-12 months, depending on how frequently the pump is used.
Sump Pump problems include:
- Power failures can occur and this could mean your pump system failing and causes a flood in your cellar.
- Sump pump switch is stuck or not working correctly
- Sump pumps can become overloaded if the sump pump system isn’t meeting the requirement for the discharge of water. We can advise you of the most efficient system for your cellar/basement and install the best equipment to stop flooding
- Sump pumps don’t go on forever and should be replaced after 5 - 7 years
